Vera Chierico

Vera Chierico studied at the Royal Academy of Dance from 3 years of age and left the UK at 17 to tour Italy in the theatre. After several years in Italy then a further decade all over Europe, the Middle East, Caribbean and America Vera settled and raised three children in New Jersey and New York, dancing again with a group
during the last four years there.

After returning to the UK in 1989 Vera formed the New Jerusalem Dancers and, with her family danced and taught all over the UK and eventually, as far as Australia. In 1991 Vera qualified as a Fitness Instructor and incorporates this training into her dance teaching.

Vera also designed and created all the dance costumes for the group and frequently takes in sewing for others.
After 32 years, The New Jerusalem Dancers is now disbanded. However, the independent teaching invitations are now increasing, locally and again internationally. Vera is also a percussionist and joined the Penginistas  Brazillian drumming group.
