IRELAND
Lynda Cleland
Country contact for Ireland & Regional Rep for Northern Ireland.
I am married with 3 adult children, 7 grandchildren. Although I don’t possess any professional dance
qualifications but have gained knowledge and experience from attending ballet as a child, the Girls Brigade, and unto being a worship through movement facilitator for my Church for 10 years until 2020.
I enjoy leading what I call “Holy Spirit led” workshops that are not fully planned or choreographed in advance, that just “go with the flow” through exploring a theme, concept, song etc whilst using flags, billows, tambourines, staves or anything else that’s inspired to use, though personally I love to dance with swing flags but If I’m in an environment where I can’t dance then I use BSL sign language to express myself in worship.
Vision / Calling
CDFI is an interdenominational organisation providing support and networking for Christians throughout Ireland, north and south, who are involved in dance and movement. CDFI desires to see the Body of Christ enabled to freely express its relationship with God through movement and the related arts. It seeks to honour Jesus Christ in all activities and help to build unity within the Church.
Scripture
“As you, Father, are in me and I am in you … I in them and you in me, that they may become completely one, so that the world may know that you have sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.” | John 17:23
