     APPLICATION FOR PETER JONES YOUTH LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIP

HISTORY

In 2018 a Flame Award for Youth Leadership was set up as a memorial for the Foundation’s major donor, Peter Jones. Peter often spoke about encouraging youth leadership.  The scholarship, now called the Peter Jones Youth Leadership Scholarship, assists the recipient to attend the triennial International Conference, hosted by the International Christian Dance Fellowship. The next conference will be in April 2025 in Christchurch New Zealand.

THE AWARD

The award aims to enable the youth leader to gain further education and connections with leaders and mentors.

• The scholarship of AUD$1,000 will be given every three years.
• The chosen leader will use the funds to attend the next international conference.
• The recipient will receive mentoring at and following the conference, to be agreed with the applicant.

ELIGIBILITY

The applicant needs to be

• A leader, or potential leader, of a Christian dance ministry group/class or committee.
• A committed Christian who demonstrates Christian attributes of servanthood, teamwork and respectful interaction with colleagues and members of the team.
• Between the ages of 16 and 30.

Skills and Expertise

• Demonstrates initiative and enterprise
• Demonstrates the ability to lead others in dance ministry
• Has dance experience and training
• Is involved in ministry that is respected by dance peers and/or church community.

REQUIREMENTS

• The applicant and mentor are required to report back to the ICDF Foundation on what was gained at the conference and on plans for ongoing mentoring.
