Formation Scripture 1988
‘JOY OF THE REDEEMED’
Then will the lame leap like a deer, and the mute tongue shout for joy. Water will gush forth in the wilderness, and streams in the desert.
The burning sand will become a pool, the thirsty ground bubbling springs. In the haunts where the jackal once lay, grass and reeds and papyrus will grow.
ISAIAH 35:6-7
VISION
To be salt and light to our nation of Aotearoa New Zealand for the glory of God, as we gather together and worship the LORD in spirit and in truth through dance and the creative arts.
MISSION
Our mission is to provide a place of friendship, support and nurturing, to train and empower followers of Jesus to honour and worship God through dance and the creative arts throughout Aotearoa New Zealand. We aim to achieve this by providing resources through workshops, gatherings, online events and networking. ICDFANZ is where Christians can connect their faith and calling in the performing arts to express creative worship in spirit and in truth.
A place where we can use dance and the creative arts to be salt and light to our nation and to the world. We are
committed to supporting Christian dancers and creative artists in the development of strong Christian arts ministry within their regions and their churches.
HERITAGE
Our inaugural meeting was held on 5th November 1988 in Auckland. Rosalyn Smaill was our first National
Coordinator, and the fellowship was first known as CDFNZ (Christian Dance Fellowship of New Zealand).
